:: TEAM STRUCTURE ____________________________________________
Do I have to try out for XTEAM?
Nope. You just register. You will play with girls in your GRAD YEAR.
What if there are multiple teams in my GRAD YEAR- do I have to tryout?
We place you on teams based on our assessment, which includes factors including but not limited to the following: ATTITUDE, COMMUNICATION, STICK SKILLS, FITNESS, POTENTIAL, UNDERSTANDING OF CONCEPTS, + ATHLETICISM.
Placement may occur before we see you play, whereby we do extensive research to collect information from trusted sources as well as submitted video to determine where you are in relation to the rest of our talent pool for that GRAD YEAR. If you are misplaced or make improvements within a season, you could be moved among teams. We have extensive and open conversations to ensure everyone is on the same page.
If anyone can sign up, how is XTEAM good?
1 - Most of our young girls go all the way through the program, so we can develop our core talent.
2 - Our fantastic coaches in PIPELINE CLUBS + MARKETS help to identify top talent.
3 - Skill + ability can be developed, but commitment is the key determiner of how we work to use the dedication of our members and turn it into individual + team results on the field.
:: XTEAM EVENTS ____________________________________________
How does XTEAM choose which tournaments they attend?
We choose the tournaments primarily based on opportunities for the maximum amount of exposure. For younger girls, that is to competition and pace. For older girls, it's to college coaches.
Are the events mandatory?
Nothing is 100% at XTEAM. But, yes. Our program is designed to deliver results - on the field + off it. So, if you are not there participating, we cannot do what we do best. Getting better and getting recruited is bigger than 1 event. We want girls that understand the the process is multi-faceted.
Will I miss any school for XTEAM events?
You might, but it's up to you. We try to avoid conflicting with school, but we have to determine our schedule around events that serve member goals in an industry that restricts when those events take place. Additionally, because our members come from all over, no one ends/starts school on the same day! No matter what, we deal with travel + school on a case by case basis.
Can I play on XTEAM and my local club team?
YES! if the other club team is local and the owner knows you are also participating on XTEAM, we highly encourage it. As XTEAM is a national brand, we would anticipate you playing with XTEAM when/if both clubs participate in the same tournament - however that is up to you.
:: CURRICULUM ____________________________________________
What separates XTEAM and other premiere club teams?
Our training, coaches, curriculum and most importantly, the attention we give on the field + off to each member.
If I am in middle school, can I participate?
Yes, you can! You have to be currently in 7th grade to join XTEAM, which means you are high school class of 2017. You will, however, be playing up in the high school division in every tournament. We encourage players to join EARLY! The longer you are with us, and the more exposure you have to our system, the more experienced and competitive you will become!
How many practices are there per season?
We do not have a practice schedule. Other than our TRAINING WEEKEND to start the FALL/WINTER season, we embed practicing in with tournaments, if time allows. Otherwise, we are practicing as we play in games. Our summer events are a tournament-practice combo. XTEAM members in areas where we have PIPELINE clubs are able to practice with those teams any time for free. Any XTEAM member traveling to an area with a PIPELINE CLUB can participate for free!
:: PREPARATION STATION ____________________________________________
How do XTEAMers prepare for tournaments if they aren’t practicing together?
We send videos, workout packets, and several tips + suggestions. Our player evaluations also act as a great reference on areas that need improvement and HOW to make those changes.
Additionally, our coaches are in constant contact with their players to make sure we know about injuries, recruiting lists + training details.
How does XTEAM prepare players to play in college?
First, we coach you like you are in college already. Our curriculum is accelerated and we focus heavily on going at a fast pace. More importantly, we respect your time and try to make the amount of time you spend at XTEAM efficient + useful. Finally and most importantly, we require a lot of each member and those that get through our system are ultimately prepared + ready to take on college lacrosse. Members that have a hard time with the XTEAM system are also likely to have a hard time managing playing and studying at the college level.
So, if I join XTEAM and attend all of the tournaments, I will be recruited?
We wish it was that easy! The recruiting process is tough. It takes a ton of work and many aspects come into play – most important of which are your GRADES, attitude + work ethic! XTEAM doesn’t guarantee that players will get recruited just by wearing our jersey – but we will supply you with all of the tools necessary to give you the BEST chance at being recruited. This is YOUR process. YOU must be willing to put forth the time + energy into it. And we will be here to support you along the way!
:: SUPPORT ____________________________________________
So, I have to do all of the work and XTEAM will just be there to support me?
Yes. This is completely true.
How do you communicate with the members?
We rely heavily on email and keep all event information updated on the website. Our coaches are in constant contact with their players via email, text and phone.
:: TRAVEL LOGISTICS ____________________________________________
What is a SOLO traveler?
It's when you come by yourself to an event unaccompanied by your parents. It is the piece of the XTEAM program that distinguishes us from any other club team program and works to your benefit by creating an atmosphere reminiscent of college. Even when we do not REQUIRE that you come as a SOLO (training weekend + most summer events), our members opt for it. Some girls go SOLO + their parents attend. What started as a way to cut costs for the family became the foundation of how our programs works to help players get better, faster.
Do I pay extra fees per event?
Well, that's a good one. Since the tournaments are INCLUDED in your membership fee, the only additional fees you are asked to pay are SOLO FEES. And that's only if you choose to attend the tournament as a SOLO! This fee covers (transportation AT the event, food, hotel and 24 hour supervision)
ege experience.
Are there any scholarship opportunities?
Abso-freakin'-lutely! Contact us directly.
