XTEAM is dedicated to leveling the playing field between girls from lacrosse hotbeds + girls from "non-traditional" lacrosse playing areas. XTEAM members come from all over the country. All of our members join because they are looking for the tools + resources to improve their lacrosse game, among them a strong majority want to pursue playing lacrosse in college and intend to use XTEAM as a support and guide through that crazy process.

Our programming stems from aggregating all of the lacrosse related information available (there is so much!) and sifting through it to determine a course of action that will help our members - girls that may not have the opportunity for constant competition, high level learning opportunities or the ability to see lacrosse played at the collegiate level. In order to isolate the best information and make strong recommendations, our staff remains actively involved in the lacrosse community from a national standpoint. Our coaches are talking to college coaches, doing clinics in developing areas, communicating with our members and actively pursuing their own lacrosse-related careers.

Of course, exposure is the most attractive piece of XTEAM, with a recognizable brand and competitive teams. We attend the premier recruiting tournaments throughout the country, tailoring the schedule of each GRAD YEAR to include events that will help create momentum as they progress through our program and into the recruiting process. Our programming is relevant and works to prepare the one-day-woman, not just the present-day-laxer.

It's our slogan, our mantra, our lifestyle. In lax + life, we believe that you will always be braiding these 3 elements to achieve your goals. Through finding the things that make you laugh, fighting for what you believe in, and risking to discover new limits ... THIS is how we hope to inspire our members to pursue their dreams. On the field, we encourage our members to take risks, make mistakes, recover, learn + move on. Off the field, we urge them to let their hair down, dance in the middle of a crowded street and find something that makes their SOUL smile.

:: WHO ARE YOU + WHAT DO YOU WANT?
Girls + women change a lot; it's what makes us awesome. But, as life is guided by making decisions, not knowing who you are could influence decision making patterns that may lead away from what you want. At XTEAM, the biggest piece motivator of how we guide our members is based getting them to be honest about who they are so they can determine what they want. It's okay if the answers change, it's asking the questions that count. And, when the answers remain the same is when we know each member is on to something ...

:: A SAFE PLACE
At XTEAM, we work to create an environment that is safe for everyone, regardless of individual interests. We understand the worlds our members come from that help to create unhealthy and cruel habits to belittle classmates and to thrive only when peers are sinking.

We have a VERY strict policy on MEAN GIRL behavior and aside from illegal activity, it's the one thing that will get a member sent home at her parents' expense. XTEAM offers a no judgment zone, where girls come as they are. In fact, we believe that your less-than-perfect stuff is your best stuff.

How do we establish, monitor and maintain this world? Firstly, our coaches go through "So, be it." training, equipping them to identify cues. Additionally, we place a value on improving yourself by focusing on yourself and utilizing your coaches to help you pursue your goals. We say this a lot :: "If you spend time talking about someone else, there is less time to go after what you want." Also, all of our activities work to celebrate individuality + expression. Finally, with girls coming from all over with different backgrounds and experiences, we leave drama at the door. There are no politics or favorites, just people brave enough to jump in and go after something.

:: BADASS BOMBS
That's right, we said it. With bullying in high schools wrecking havoc for teenagers, our aim is not just to create a world where girls can laugh, fight + risk. It's not enough for us to send them back home to survive what is going on around them. At XTEAM, we intend to fill every member up with explosives :: Confidence, Professionalism, Ideas, Creativity, Individuality, Responsibility + Originality. Why? So, when you go back home, you can DETONATE your awesomeness and explode to make positive changes in your community.

:: LIFE TRANSLATION
While our specialty is lax, everything we teach translates to life. From getting out of a double team to preparing recruiting materials to communicating with college coaches, if it doesn't make you better prepared for life at large, it doesn't belong as a major stake in our messaging. Sure, there are plenty of things to use as a means to an end, but our program is designed for girls to get the VALUE of their XTEAM experience on the field + off it that will help build their capacity to better succeed far beyond the 8 meter arc and the recruiting process.

:: EXPOSURE – LIFE + LAX
The biggest reason people join is to get exposure to college coaches, which is great for now. But, given the time + expense of the program, we like to provide additional exposure that prepares our members to function and excel as they head into the rest of their lives.

XTEAMers travel alone navigating airports + train stations. They integrate with their peer group and form bonds that will serve as their on + off field support team, they increase their network of industry specific mentors to help achieve the goals they work to articulate and they build relationships with college coaches by learning how to effectively communicate. They eat, practice, reflect, sleep and allow us to push them without the comfort of their parents. They are willing to hear criticism + have the chance to express themselves in writing as well as address a large group.

:: PIPELINES
Our membership has represented over 30 states over the past decade. With local club teams in SoCal, Atlanta + Texas (Houston + Dallas), XTEAM has established pipelines to develop talent locally. Almost all of our XTEAM coaches also coach for each of these pipeline clubs.

THE HARD TRUTH: The odds are stacked against you.
The number of spaces available to you on a college sponsored division I, II, III or club team is dramatically smaller than the number of HS female lacrosse players. Coming from a "non-traditional" lacrosse playing area further puts you at a disadvantage. Joining XTEAM provides you with the tools necessary to level the playing field and provide more opportunities, on + off the field.
